Everyday apps — Notes, Journal, Bookmarks, Wellness, Portfolio

Notes

Notes is a three-pane notebook: filters on the left, the note list in the middle, and the note itself — always open, always editable. There are no Edit/Save buttons; changes autosave as you type. A few things worth knowing:

  • Quick capture — type into the dashed box at the top of the list and press Enter to start a note.
  • Search — full-text across titles and bodies as you type; arrow keys walk the results, Enter opens, Cmd/Ctrl+F jumps to the search box.
  • Wiki links — type [[ inside a note to link another note by title (or create one on the spot). A note lists what points at it under Linked from, and notes sharing a tag appear as Related notes.
  • Tags — click a tag pill on a note to see every note with that tag; the "Find a tag…" box in the sidebar narrows the tag list as you type.
  • Templates — a note can be Blank, a Book (chapters behind the "Chapters" toggle), or a Saved prompt (a reusable instruction, with settings behind the "Settings" toggle; schedule it and it becomes a routine).
  • AI Assistant notes — when the assistant writes a note for you, it's typed "AI Assistant" with a ✨ chip, and the sidebar gets a filter to see them all.
  • Define — select a word in any note to look it up in place.

Journal

The journal is for dated reflection: one or more entries per day, each with an optional mood. Read it as a list or flip through the diary view.

The assistant can read your journal when you ask it to ("how was my week?") and can write entries for you ("journal this: …"). A gentle home-page nudge appears if you haven't written today.

Bookmarks

Bookmarks live inside the Web Browser: every new tab shows your bookmarks, the star in the toolbar saves the current page, and "Manage" on the new tab’s Bookmarks section opens the full Bookmarks page — save links with a title and tags, browse them as a grid or a list. Clicking a bookmark opens the page in the browser (the small i button on a card opens its details instead). The assistant can save bookmarks for you and can pull them into research when you ask.

Wellness

One place to log health data: blood pressure and pulse, resting heart rate, weight, blood glucose, SpO2, temperature, meals, water, activities with heart-rate data, steps, sleep, mood and energy, medications, and symptoms. The + Log button opens a grouped menu; every entry lands in a per-day timeline.

  • Readings in context — blood pressure and glucose entries show how long after the last meal and activity they were taken (log the meal first, then the reading), so a post-lunch number reads differently from a fasting one.
  • Trends — charts for BP (with 120/80 reference lines), pulse, weight, glucose, sleep, water, mood, and steps, over 2 weeks to all time.
  • Units — switch lb/kg, mg/dL/mmol/L, F/C, and oz/ml from the Units button; entries keep the unit they were logged in and convert for display.
  • Ask the assistant — it can log entries ("log my bp, 122 over 79"), list them, and summarize trends, all locally.

Wellness is a personal log, not a medical device; talk to your doctor about anything concerning.

Portfolio

Track investment accounts (brokerage, 401k, IRA, HSA…), their holdings, and properties. Prices refresh from Yahoo Finance; cost basis uses the average-cost method; a value history chart shows the trend.

Everything is stored locally like the rest of your data. The Show/Hide button in the header blanks all dollar values when someone's looking over your shoulder. Snapshot saves today's total to the history.

  • Accounts — the accounts nav on the left scopes the page to All Accounts or a single account: masthead, chart, holdings, transactions and notes all follow.
  • Holdings — one simple row per position, at every scope.
  • Options — long calls and puts are tracked next to stocks. In the transaction editor, switch from Stock to Option and fill in the underlying, call or put, strike, and expiration; quantity means contracts, price means premium, and the 100x multiplier is applied for you. Positions read as "AAPL $250 Call 12/18/26" with a chip that turns amber near expiry. Short and written options are not supported.
  • Prices — quotes include pre-market and post-market moves when the market is closed. For shares bought today, day change is measured from your purchase price rather than yesterday's close.
  • StrategyPlan in the accounts nav shows the plan behind the holdings: your own words, a target mix with tolerance bands and what to trim or add to get back to target, guardrails with a pass or fail beside each, and a one-line verdict. Every number is computed by the app, never written by the AI. Click a plan's name for its own page: which accounts follow it, its change history, and questions to ask that fit the plan's state. You build a strategy by talking to the assistant, which interviews you one question at a time.
