Getting started with Anjadhe

Updated August 21, 2026

Welcome to Anjadhe. This guide walks you through the first steps after installing the app.

Install the app

Download the latest build from the Download page and drag Anjadhe into your Applications folder. On first launch, macOS will ask for permission to run the app — approve it in System Settings if prompted.

Set your first goal

Goals live in Tasks, the one door that holds your whole framework.

  1. Open Anjadhe, press Cmd+K and type Tasks, then open the Goals tab.
  2. Click "Help me set a new goal". The assistant walks you through it one question at a time: what you want to accomplish, what done looks like, by when. Then it proposes the first steps as tasks with dates for you to approve.
  3. Or add one by hand with + New goal and fill in the fields yourself.

Each goal carries a plain Group label, the part of life it belongs to: Health, Work, Finance, Learning. There is nothing to set up first. A group exists because a goal carries its name, and the Goals page groups by it. Three or four groups is plenty.

Goals are specific, finishable outcomes with a date, not vague wishes:

  • Health → Run a 10K on October 18
  • Career → Ship v1 of the mobile app by the end of Q2
  • Finance → Save a 6-month emergency fund by December
  • Learning → Finish the machine-learning course by August

Less useful: Work on the app, Get healthier — you can never check those off.

Break goals into tasks

Tasks are the day-to-day actions that move a goal forward. For Run a 10K on October 18 that might be: "Sign up for the October 10K" (one-time, this week), "Run" repeating Mon/Wed/Sat at 7am, and "Buy running shoes Saturday". Type them into the quick-add box in plain language — Run every mon wed sat 7am — or open the goal and click Suggest tasks to have the assistant propose them. For the recurring behaviors that compound underneath a goal, add a repeating Task — it comes back on the days you choose and tracks your streak.

The Tasks app is your front door. It opens to Today, a short, finishable list that merges today's tasks, action items pulled from email, and your calendar, so you always know what to work on next. Tomorrow, This Week, This Month, Later, and each goal group are one click away in its nav.

Connect your tools

Anjadhe can optionally connect to external services to bring their data into your dashboard:

  • Gmail — priority emails are analyzed on-device, and action items are extracted directly into your task list.
  • Google Calendar — see events alongside your tasks in one place.

Open Settings → Connected Accounts to add an account. You can toggle individual services on or off at any time.

Enable AI

Anjadhe ships with local AI built in. Open Settings → AI Assistant to download a model (Gemma is a good default; local models are offered on Macs with 32 GB of memory or more). Everything runs on-device by default: nothing leaves your machine until you point it somewhere.

On a smaller Mac, or for more power, use Settings → AI Assistant → + Add model: Anjadhe Cloud (hosted by Anjadhe, free monthly allowance, no account or key), your own OpenAI-compatible server, or an OpenAI/Anthropic model with your own API key. Every off-Mac option is an explicit, per-model choice, never a default or a fallback, and your traffic goes only where you pointed it.

That's the basics. Explore the rest of the app — Notes, Journal, Bookmarks, the Web Browser, Portfolio, and Maker — at your own pace. Everything is optional; use only the parts that fit how you work. And every page in the app has a small ? in its header that opens that page's guide in place.
